Short Synopsis

Íobairtí  (the Sacrificed), 2007 film by Lugh Films / Scannain Lugh Teoranta, Co. Donegal, Ireland
John O’Brien is a fisherman from Inishboffin Island in the Donegal Gaeltacht who disagrees with the Government’s total ban on Salmon fishing with driftnets.
John’s people have been fishermen for generations and he would like to be able to pass this tradition on to his sons. Because of the ban, this is currently not an option but John intends to fight for exemption for Islander Communities who depend on Salmon fishing as a means of livelihood.
